Supreme Court And Cameras
Camera lovers may believe there is nothing that shouldn’t be caught on film. What about the Supreme Court? With Supreme Court Justice David Souter retiring, it may be an ideal time for cameras to be allowed in to court proceedings. Judge Souter refused them adamantly. He was the leading opponent to such a move in the past when the idea surfaced.
Most other courts allow cameras in to view the proceedings, to a point. Companies like C-SPAN are lobbying to get these cameras into the Supreme Court, too. There will still be many obstacles to getting the cameras in, since other Justices have not said they are for such a move.
