New Camera Phone Sensors Suck?

Omnivision is set to release new miniature camera phone sensors capable of taking 14 megapixel photos and 1080p videos at 60 fps. That should be neat. However, the actual phone components starting with the camera phone lens may not necessarily be helpful since they too may need to be addressed or upgraded.

Camera phone lenses are normally slow and produce very low quality. Poor light performance and bad clarity may become a problem. This is like watching HD videos on a smeared TV set. In short, there is no shortcut in technology. You have to address everything (and as in EVERYTHING).
