Canon Inc. now has more or less cemented its hold on being the leader in digital imaging with the acquisition of Virtual Imaging Inc. With the deal, Canon now expands its capabilities to deliver complete medical imaging and healthcare solutions.

Established in 1995, the Florida-based Virtual Imaging is a leading provider of diagnostic imaging solutions and a medical systems integrator. With more than 100 employees, including a national sales and service organization, Virtual Imaging serves large complex hospital organizations, imaging centers and private physician offices, and is the national distributor of Canon’s award-winning Digital Radiography (DR) Systems.
