Office Depot’s Display Is Actually Pretty Smart

Remember how I was telling you not so long ago about Office Depot’s new displays to show off their new camcorders?  I got a look at it today and I’ll say this for it, it’s actually pretty interesting.

See, they’ve got them separated off by brand name, like I said they did before.  But what I just noticed when looking at them today was that they’ve also sub-separated them out into certain basic categories like “basic point and shoot”, “slim and sleek shooter”, kind of like that.  I might be off on the exact categories but you get the idea.

This is actually a really smart idea on Office Depot’s part, because it’s not exactly easy, right off, to tell exactly what kind of camera you’re looking at.  Oh, sure, you can get a basic idea by looking at that old price tag, but even then, it’s still a bit shaky.  Adding that appellation kind of gives a little more specific view into the camera itself.

Anything Office Depot can do to get out of big brother Office Max’s shadow is definitely a smart move.
