Red Light Cameras Illegal For Aventura, Says Judge
It’s been a little while since we last got any news on the ongoing horrendous misuse of camera technology by cash-starved municipalities literally everywhere, the red light camera. And the news today out of Florida is downright cheery for those of us who believe that the cities are misusing cameras to their own benefit.
A Miami-Dade circuit court judget ruled that the Aventura area, under state law, cannot use traffic cameras to issue fines.
But this isn’t stopping Aventura from issuing fines, at least not for another week, which is about how long it’ll take that circuit court judge to put his ruling into writing and thus make it official.
So for those of you who live near Aventura and like to go in there (apparently they’ve got lots of terrific shopping and condos) you may want to stay in for the next week or so and stay out of there until their now affirmedly illegal plans have been soundly overridden.
