The Most Insanely Priced Camera Ever…Yet…From Hasselblad
Folks, I’ve seen some spectacular doozies in my time, especially since I started talking about cameras, but man, I don’t know who in their right mind would ever buy a Hasselblad H3DII-50MS.
See, the Hasselblad H3DII-50MS is a whole lot of camera. It’s downright monstrous. It can take four consecutive shots and record RGB values for each, which is pretty awesome in its way, but the questions of the day are:
1. Who actually needs or wants this capability?
and
2. Who’s willing to shell out thirty four thousand dollars for the opportunity?
I can’t think of a whole lot of situations in which it’d be an advantage to be able to take four consecutive shots that wouldn’t be solved mostly by outright video, nor can I think of much reason to shell out a really good down payment on a house (or several houses if you’re willing to buy in third world hellholes like, say, Detroit) for a single camera.
Now, of course, a professional might be interested, if for no other reason than it’d be a monster writeoff, but aside from that, I can’t picture it.
