ThruVision T5000
A new security camera is able to detect hidden drugs, explosives and other weapons from a distance of over 80 feet. It is produced by a British company called ThruVision. The camera uses a system known as passive imaging technology and is able to identify objects by utilizing natural electromagnetic rays, known as Terahertz or T-Rays.
Because every object has a different T-Ray signature the camera is able to differentiate between objects and substances that are similar in nature, for example, flour & cocaine. Whilst primarily targeting governments and large organizations, ThruVision sees a future for their technology in home security as well. It won’t be long before you will know what your kids are bringing into the house, without asking them.
