Toshiba Announces a New 14.6-megapixel Backlit Sensor
Toshiba has a new 14.6-megapixel BSI sensor. BSI stands for back-side illumination and it’s a design meant to improve pictures taken in low lighting conditions. The BSI sensor will decrease the amount of noise and your pictures will look better than ever. The new CMOS sensor is official already but that doesn’t mean that a new camera ready to use it is on its way. But Toshiba does plan to make about 500,000 sensors a month which means that a lot of future cameras will definitely use them.
