Turnabout Is Fair Play, or, The Cops Hate Hidden Cameras Too

So i was reading this article about how cops down in Miami Beach discovered that there was a hidden camera located inside the Internal Affairs interview room, and how the union was up in arms and DEMANDING an internal investigation and saying great stuff like:

“It’s illegal. It’s completely unprofessional. It’s unethical.”

And after my riotous laughter subsided into hoarse gasps, and I wiped away the flood of tears, I realized that they’re exactly right.  The problem here being that they don’t apply the same standard ANYWHERE ELSE.

Offices are laden with hidden cameras, spying on workers.  The streets are packed with cameras from one block to the next.  You go to other countries and it’s even worse.  So why is the Miami Beach police department having a grand mal hissy fit over that camera?

Because it applies to THEM, that’s why.  Because they’re on the receiving end of the behavior they’ve been advocating for years, they and the rest of the governments worldwide, and now they see how badly the shoe fits when it’s on the other foot.

Scuse me if I can’t cry for you, Argentina…too many cameras out here.
