Virtobot Scanners to do Virtual Autopsies

The future of making better autopsies may have finally arrived with the Virtobot Scanners. This is a robot-scanning creation currently used at the University of Bern’s Institute of Forensic Medicine. With the Virtobot, corpses are simply slid within the 3D scanner and that machine does the rest.

The cool part here is that there is no time limit when investigators have to study the deaths of certain people even after years when they actually happened. This is certainly one machine that crime scene investigators can rely on and who knows if we may (if not yet) see it on popular shows like Crime Scene Investigation? Check out the video for a demo.
