A back-to-basics campaign from US company Sakar has seen a manual 35mm single lens reflex camera get a re-launch in the States. Aimed particularly at students and those who are not enamored with the modern consumer electronics industry, the Vivitar V3800N has been resurrected from its “all but discontinued” status.

Priced from $169 (around £107), Sakar, the company that bought Vivatar, says the “old school” SLR has been brought back in response to consumer and retailer requests. The camera is offered in three packages with a 50mm lens, or a 28-70mm zoom lens, and several accessories and is on sale in the US at Wal-Mart, amongst others.
