Today we’re talking about the Aptus-II 5 digital back camera from Leaf, a positively gargantuan camera in terms of quality and price.

Seriously–the specs on this thing are downright amazing and I’d love to review one.  It’s got a .9 FPS capture rate, a twenty two megapixel resolution, a twelve-stop dynamic range and an ISO range starting at twenty five and ending at four hundred.    It even comes in two distinct flavors–a digital back by itself which runs a conservative NINE GRAND, or with all the bells and whistles (where bells are a Phase One 645AF body and whistles are an eighty millimeter lens) for right around twelve grand.

They’re now available for purchase–though who would be willing to shell out the equivalent of a gently used car for a camera is utterly beyond me–and you should receive your magnificent camera sometime in November.  Seriously, that’s a lot of camera, and a whole lot of price.  it’s probably more than most people need, but if you want a thyroidal monster of a camera, well, this is a good place to start.
