I am using a Laptop of HP with an integrated web cam. However, the web cam is not performance is not up to the mark. In such a case, I think it is better to rely on an external webcam. The TalkCam CX1 Web Camera with 1300000 pixel supports upto 1280x960 (SXGA) resolution. It has a built-in microphone and features face track king and zoom function.

A well know name in the field of web cameras Io-Data has recently announced a high end model USB interface web camera lineage Optia series which include two web cams , LC-OAF and LC-OPP. This web cam is scheduled for launch by the month end and is expected to grab some attention. The camera is equipped with 200 ten thousand pixel CMOS sensors and supports 8 Mega pixels. The camera also employs automatic focusing lens focus adjustment system. The user is facilitated with both animated picture capturing with still picture capturing. With this intelligent and smart web cam comes fixed stereo array microphone, the moving case, the rapid start guide etc. About the pricing of these models there is no word from the company.

Thanko Inc. well known for its versatile consumer products brings another cool product the new “Magic Mirror WEBCAM”. In this Mirror the Web camera is fitted behind center of magic mirror. When the user is chatting the reflected image comes on the mirror enabling to put across the user in a better way to opponent. In addition to this 24 white LED lights are united by the side of mirror edge to light up the user wonderfully. As this just looks like a normal desk mirror one can also bring it in use as secret inspection web cam. There is not much information about the product till now and to know about the pricing and the availability the users need to wait a bit more patiently.
Digital Cowboy has recently introduced a smart webcam NV-202. This webcam features a 1.3 Mega Pixel for the best image quality. It also supports an optical zoom and a wide angle mode. The users of this webcam can also record 1280x1024 videos in 15 or 30FPS (VGA). There is no word from Digital Cowboy about the pricing and availability of the product. The webcam includes a built-in microphone and enhanced RightSound Technology and is compatible with popular video messaging applications, including Skype, Windows Live Messenger, Yahoo! Messenger and AIM. The webcam will be available from April and will have a suggested retail price of $39.99 (U.S.).
The new Logitech QuickCam Deluxe for Notebook promises best-of-class image and audio quality via its glass lens with a 1.3 megapixel sensor. One comes across a snapshot button located on the top of the webcam and the webcam also comes bundled with a spring-tension clip works on panels up to 20 mm thick. The Logitech QuickCam Deluxe supports popular video messaging applications, including Skype, Windows Live Messenger, Yahoo! Messenger and AIM. The webcam will be available from April and will have a suggested retail price of $59.99 (U.S.).

Digital Cowboy has launched a new telephoto Web camera, the Net Cowboy DC-NCP130 which is actually a USB CMOS camera of 1.3-millon pixels (1,280 x 1,024: 15 frames per second). On attaching the telephoto lens one can achieve optical 7x telephoto. The webcam measures 33 x 146 x 37mm and will retail for 9,800 yen (US$81) in February.

Everything USB has reviewed the Logitech QuickCam Ultra Vision Webcam and like it for its stunning image quality, its ability to produce sharp image and its ability to perform in various lightening conditions. The only thing that the reviewer didn't like was the lens has a fixed focus and there is no focus ring on the webcam.
The QuickCam Ultra Vision has a 1.3 megapixel sensor and a 5 element glass lens. The webcam promises highest possible quality image thanks to the on board Logitech RightLight2 Technology which even produces good results in dim, side- and back-lit situations. The reviewer concludes "In the end I was left with nothing but good impressions of the QuickCam Ultra Vision.
