YouTube gets automatic captions, hilarity ensues
YouTube has recently started a new feature which allows the user to turn on closed captions. It isn’t available on every video, and it is beta.
It is very obviously in beta too. You should see some of the hilarious combinations of words that they can come up with. This is Sandra Bullock giving her acceptance speech at the Oscars, and that would not be would I would say on my acceptance speech. If you think that’s funny, you should hear the Apple’s iPad launch where “A high-res color display” becomes “a high risk going to split”.
I guess we are not ready for automatic translation as yet. However, I have to admire this YouTube feature, powered by Google, is the way of the future.
