Zeiss reveals new Zeiss 35mm f/1.4 Distagon for Nikon and Canon
Lens maker Zeiss has announced a brand new 35mm f/1.4 lens for both Canon and Nikon cameras. The new Zeiss 35mm f/1.4 Distagon lens is one of the heaviest on the market, at 840 grams, and consists of 11 glass elements in 9 groups — quite a lot for a wide angle prime lens.
The new lens is expected to go head to head with Canon’s own EF 35mm f/1.4L USM, while Nikon is expected to announce a brand new 35mm f/1.4 this year.
Zeiss plans to release the new 35mm f/1.4 Distagon early next year, at a price of $1,843 USD, pretty much the same as Nikon and Canon’s offerings.
